Successful Affiliate Marketing Strategies

Tag: Affiliate ideas, Crucial factors, GeneralSeree @ 2:04 pm

Many people make a serious income from marketing other people’s products. Unfortunately, many more spend time and effort in this area and see little or no reward. The good news is that not much usually separates the successful affiliate marketer from the novice. In this article we will look at some strategies to improve your results selling affiliate products.

1. Pick the right product
Generally you want to pick a product that has a higher affiliate commission and a higher price. However, it is Return on Investment (ROI) that is more important. In other words, if you spend $5 to make $10 you have a 100% return. If this scales up well you may just need to increase your advertising spending to get a large amount of money. On the other hand, if you market an expensive product that gives a large return, but it costs you more to advertise than it does in commissions then you are going to lose money.

As well as price and commission you need to examine the potential conversion rate. A product with a great sales letter and other benefits may be much easier to sell.

Timing is also important. If you can find a hot product before the majority of the market you are going to do well. If the product has already been flogged by your competition you may struggle to make any sales.

2. The money is in the list
You have probably heard this over and over again but the question is - Have you taken any action in this area? It is much easier to sell to existing customers than create a new one. Rather than sell one off products you should look at getting sign ups to your OWN list. From here you can continue to sell over and over again. However, you also need to provide good content or add value in other ways otherwise the unsubscribe rate will be high.

3. Spend money to make money
Sometimes you can get free advertising that works, but more often than not you have to spend money to make money. For example, you could run an AdWords campaign to send people to a sign-up page for a free 5-day course you set up using an autoresponder. Every subscriber is going to cost you something but over the long term as long as the ROI is positive you are going to make money.

4. Test, test, test
You need to continually test your ad copy, your traffic statistics, your sign-up rates etc. In particular, you should try a small-cost advertising campaign to see if it is going to be successful before putting a large amount of money into it. Find out what other successful marketers are doing. Read articles, participate in forums and if you can, get a mentor.

Who knows, using these strategies you may turn from a novice affiliate marketer to the next ’super’ affiliate.

Affiliate Profits with Article Marketing

Tag: Affiliate ideas, Traffic generationSeree @ 12:51 am

If you have a small advertising budget, but you want a proven way to spread the word about your affiliate products or services, article marketing is the perfect solution. By offering informative, easy-to-read content that appeals to the search engines, you can drive significant traffic to your web pages for affiliate profits.

The key to effective article marketing is to offer useful and interesting content that is optimized for the search engines.

To start the article, choose a topic that pertains to your affiliate offerings and find the best keywords related to the topic. You can use a free resource such as Keyword Playground to research the popularity of certain words and use Google to research the competitiveness of the keywords.

Informative, well-written content with a keyword density of three to five percent is a good step to getting your article ranked in the search engines. Do not, however, overuse keywords or else your articles will be ranked lower due to the spam flag.

Make sure to research the topic you are writing about through Google searches, encyclopedias and/or library research so you offer meaningful content.

Choose an attention-grabbing title to raise interest, such as posing a question or a challenge to your readers. As you write the article, check your spelling and grammar so your writing has a professional appearance.

If you find the process difficult, you may choose to invest in a program such as Fat Content that guides you through SEO writing step-by-step and includes an optimized search engine browser for outstanding research.

Unique articles providing outstanding information will bring the most traffic to your affiliate pages. Once you prepare an original, well-written article, proofread your work or ask someone else to read your article so you know it makes sense.

Once the article is perfect, it’s time to submit it to article directories such as Ezine Articles, Article City and Go Articles. You can also feature your article on blogs, forums and newsletters. Make sure, however, that your bio box includes the link to your affiliate website before you submit to the directories.

Although it can be time-consuming, writing great articles is an affordable way to boost your affiliate profits even if you have a small advertising budget. And if you’re able to to write an over-the-top article that goes viral, you’ll be amazed at the traffic it will bring you.

Why You Should Redirect Your Affiliate Links?

Tag: Crucial factorsSeree @ 12:31 pm

Hi affiliate marketers,

This is really important for every affiliate marketers.

Affiliate marketing can make you a decent amount of income on the side without having your own product and sales copy.

The trick is to be different and not appear like everyone else. One main way to look different is to re-direct or cloak your affiliate link.

However, this article is going to tell you three other ways that re-directing your affiliate links can benefit you.

The first is Spam. When you use the same link coming from the same domain as everyone else, the spam filters start to pick up on that domain as being a sales letter email and blocking it as spam. i.e.

www.affiliateprogram.com/?id=111

So when ever the filters see www.affiliateprogram.com in the email it will get blocked as spam and get blacklisted, especially if it is a large promotion.

By re-directing the link - it will have your domain as the link and help to make it thru the spam filters.

The second reason is search engine optimization. If you write articles and submit them with a signature file that has the affiliate link, the affiliate site gets the back links. Plus it makes it easy for people to get rid of your affiliate id.

By using your domain as a redirect to the affiliate program you get the back links to your site and better SEO rankings.

The third reason is that it will make you look more professional as a marketer and not just someone who is out promoting all kinds of affiliate programs. When potential customers see

http://affiliateprogram.com/?id=111 they know it is an affiliate program and will be less likely to click on it.

However when they see

http://yourdoamin.com/affilliatename or http://yourdomain.com/recommends/program

They will view it more as your personal offer or recommendation.

There are many programs that offer to change your links. Many are simple software solutions and can have you changing all your links easily. The programs for changing links do not have to be pricey at all, and many are available as freeware or shareware through popular sites that offer these kinds of products.

Whatever program or software you choose, the key is to make your domain as the primary one. This will make your site seem more like the authority and have potential customers clicking away on your links in no time.

Making Money Offline using Affiliate Programs

Tag: Affiliate ideasSeree @ 3:33 pm

This article is written specifically for the masses that have tried without much or any success to compete with the multi-thousands on the internet in selling products or services through affiliate programs.

Even those who have made a few dollars here and there selling products or services through affiliate programs will find this of great interest if not having the results and making the kind of money desired or as so many have claimed.

While it is true that big money can be made with affiliate programs, it is also true that just as much or even more money and time can be lost promoting products and services through affiliate programs as the masses stand as living proof of this fact.

It is often said that only two percent of affiliate marketers make 95 percent of the money that is made through affiliate programs. So what does that leave the other 98 percent to do in making money through affiliate programs?

It is a widely known fact that most of the people that get involved with affiliate programs do so in order to try to sell to others that try to sell to others with the same interests and so it goes on and on down the line.

In most affiliate programs, the originator sells as much of their products or services on their own, then pass on the affiliate promotion rights to their closest pals and associates whom in turn pass on the promotional rights to the subscribers on their massive lists.

These individuals, the originators, and their pals and associates make up the two percent of those that make the 95 percent of the money made from the products and services promoted through affiliate programs.

In staying with the focus of this article, isn’t it about time that you who are among the masses of the 98 percent start looking at the internet and affiliate products and services in a different way that gives you as much chance of profiting as anyone else?

Okay, great, so let’s start thinking location. It is pretty safe to say that most everyone that markets products and services through affiliate programs live in different locations. Given that fact, wouldn’t you stand a better chance of profiting from affiliate programs if each and everyone sold in their exclusive location?

Logically speaking, yes, everyone would make some good money selling affiliate products and services. However, this is not the main gist of this article. So let’s step it up a notch to a different and higher level of profits - a level of profits that go way beyond selling affiliate products and services.

There are affiliate products and services that will teach you how to do many things from repairing rods and reels to restoring and cleaning headstones in cemeteries. Now just with those two products in mind, think about how many people fish and own rods and reels, and how many cemeteries and headstones there are in your particular area or location.

If there are only ten thousand people in your town or city, it would be safe to conservatively say that at least ten percent of them fish. On average, each person that loves to fish owns at least two rods and reels. Given the conservative figure of only ten percent of the population of your town owns two rods and reels… that equals two thousand rods and reels that will be in constant need of repair or service.

With an average repair rate of thirty dollars per rod or reel repair… we’re talking about an annual income of sixty to a hundred and twenty thousand dollars you can make annually doing simple rod and reel repair or service… which you learned how to do from an affiliate product. And this is only part-time.

Now, let’s think about the number of cemeteries and headstones in your particular location that require restoring, cleaning, and maintaining that no one is doing. Did you know there are a few smart people who are making a small fortune restoring, and cleaning headstones only twice a year in their area?

It is nothing for these people to easily command a hundred to four hundred dollars for cleaning or restoring a headstone. Most only do this twice a year on Memorial and Veterans Day however, that is not to say that one can not do this full time all through the year because the demand is there, and the service is needed by families of deceased loved ones.

Suffice to say, you would not need to restore or clean too many headstones to make a small fortune… working only twice a year. And, this is something you learned how to do from an affiliate product.

Now you should be getting the idea that you should look for affiliate products or services which will teach you a marketable skill or something that you can learn and earn money teaching others. A good example of an affiliate product that teaches you something you can make good money teaching others is “How To Generate Real Estate Leads.” How many real estate agents are there in your area that would pay you big dollars to learn how to generate real estate leads… which is the lifeblood of their business?

This, my friend, is how you use internet affiliate programs to make money offline, and you can do it without competition, web sites, blogs, search engine optimization, pay per click, AdWords, or any of the other hundreds of obstacles which have prevented you from achieving the financial results you desire with affiliate products and services.

Now that you know this little known money maker, use it to find those affiliate products and services which you can learn and teach others, or those which give you a marketable in demand skill for making the big money at last.

Creating a Residual Affiliate Income

Tag: Residual incomeSeree @ 4:59 am

Hi fellow affiliate marketers,

It has already been established that affiliate marketing is one of the quickest and easiest ways to make money from your own home based business.

The products creator erases the need for research and development. You, as the affiliate, have only to deal with the marketing end. In most cases the merchant will even provide sales material for you.

This is great for fast profits, but what about the long term?

Think about this for a minute. The affiliate does all the work on getting interested prospects to the product sales page through their affiliate link. Hopefully the prospect buys and the affiliate gains the commission.

But what happens after that?

The affiliate must then repeat the process all over again to bring more prospects into their sales pipeline. All for a one off sale and commission.

This can turn into a costly proposition depending on the cost of getting the leads to the sales page and the conversion ratio of said sales page.

With that in mind, what can an affiliate do to increase their return on leads and qualified prospects?

Two things.

First, as an affiliate marketer in any niche you must set up your own lead capture page and build your own list of targeted prospects.

This can be done simply by using an autoresponder to capture names and email addresses that is set up with seven to ten follow up messages extolling the benefits of the product you are promoting.

Give away a free report or a review of the product as an enticement for the prospect to leave their information.

This way you can send endorsements of other related products as well if they don’t like the original product.

Second, find membership sites or services to promote in your particular niche.

This is a truly spectacular way to maximize your advertising by gaining recurring income instead of a one-time sale.

Think about what is happening right now with cell phones. You can purchase a phone with all the bells and whistles - camera, Internet ready, text messaging - the works for very cheap. Heck, you can even find some going in a two for one deal.

So what is the catch?

You have to sign up for two years of service.

That is where they make their cash. The recurring income model.

That is what you, as an affiliate marketer, should be looking to promote.

It has been said that it’s as easy to make $100 a day, as it is to make $5 a day. That’s especially true when you already have money rolling in from previous sales.

By promoting services with a recurring monthly charge, you’ll set yourself up with a nice residual income.

Common Mistakes of Affiliate Marketers

Tag: Crucial factorsSeree @ 3:44 pm

Having an Internet business, which earns you money on auto-pilot is very exciting. Although it’s easy to make money with affiliate marketing, only a very small percentage of affiliates make a lot of money.

By following the advice in this article, not only will you avoid the common mistakes most affiliate marketers make, but you will also learn how to select programs that make you residual income for many months.

With affiliate marketing a vendor pays people (affiliates) a certain percentage of the sale price for merchandise sold. It’s a win-win situation because the affiliate simply refers people to a website and does not have to worry about fulfillment, and the vendor gets people to advertise for them and only has to pay them after they make a sale.

Here are some common mistakes most affiliate marketers make, and why you should avoid them:

1. Sending people directly to an affiliate’s website.

You spend so much energy, time and money to advertise. When you send people directly to a vendor’s website you only have one chance to get the sale. If they don’t buy they are gone. The best way to do this is to send people to an opting page, where you give them something of value for free, in exchange for their email address. That way you can follow up with them at a later date and have the opportunity to sell them other products.

2. Creating a website with a gazillion affiliate links, tons of flashy banners and all the colors of the rainbow.

You don’t want to overwhelm people because when that happens they are gone. Instead, offer an honest review of a product, pre-selling readers on its benefits, and on how it will help them.

3. Falling victim of affiliate commission theft.

Yes, commission theft is a very big problem. While, you cannot eliminate it completely, there are some steps you can take, to minimize it dramatically. Two methods you can use are cloaking and redirecting, instead of having the affiliate url in the form: http://www.vendorswebsite.com/?id=imakemoneyoffofyou

It takes the same effort to refer a sale for a one-time purchase product than it takes to refer one for a residual payment product. Therefore, it makes good business sense to try and market affiliate programs with recurring commissions.

In choosing residual payment affiliate programs, you should consider the stickiness of the services you are promoting.

For example, you refer a sale for a membership website which only offers resale rights to products, and nothing else to keep the customer from canceling. People can join, download all the products and then cancel within the same month.

On the other hand, consider referring a sale for web hosting or for an autoresponder service. These services will be essential for the customer’s business, and he/she is therefore not likely to cancel for a very long time or until they give up their online ventures completely.

In conclusion, you should try and avoid the common mistakes that affiliate marketers make by sending your customers to an opt-in list first, pre-selling them to the product’s benefits, and by avoiding affiliate commission theft. In addition, you should be going after programs with residual commissions but be sure to always evaluate the stickiness of the product you are recommending. To be able to do that, the best way is to try the product yourself first.

Choosing the Best Affiliate Program

Tag: Crucial factorsSeree @ 8:10 am

Hi fellow affiliate marketers,

At the last post, I’ve post about how to choose for a good affiliate merchant.

In this post, I’ll share you how to choose the best affiliate program to suit on your goal.

Let’s get start…

When choosing an affiliate program there are many things to consider.

By carefully choosing which affiliate programs you want to promote you can earn money quicker and make more money over the long run.

One of the first things to consider when choosing an affiliate program is do you like their products.

You need to ask yourself if you would spend your own money to buy the very products you are considering promoting.

This is one of the common mistakes of beginning affiliate marketers.

The simply choose the affiliate program that pays the highest commission, not on whether or not they would use the product.

If you really like the product and would use it yourself it will make your job of promoting the product much easier.

Another thing to consider is how much commission you will earn on each sale.

By determining how much you will earn per sale you can figure out how much you can spend to market the item.

The other factor that will determine how much you can spend promoting an item besides the amount of commission per sale is the conversion rate.

The conversion rate is usually expressed as a percentage. Usually any product that converts greater than 1% is a great product.

By looking at the conversion rate and the amount of commission paid you can quickly determine if you can afford to promote the product.

You may really like the product, but if you have to spend a lot of money to promote it per sale it doesn’t make much sense to join that affiliate program.

Your knowledge about that particular product and industry should also be considered when choosing an affiliate program.

The more you know about the industry that that affiliate program is in the more likely you are to earn more than other affiliates, which are your competition.

When looking at the competition some people have differing viewpoints.

Some people say you should look for small niches to promote products to because you could become a big fish in a small pond.

On the other hand some people say it is easier to make money in areas where people are already spending money.

The choice is up to you, which is why you need to use your own skills and knowledge when choosing an affiliate program to promote.

Simply picking the latest and greatest affiliate program will not lead to long-term success.

By considering these factors you will start earning commissions sooner.

How You Choose Your Affiliates Merchant?

Tag: Crucial factorsSeree @ 3:04 am

Hi affiliate marketers,

In this post I’ll share with you my personal tips to choose for affiliates merchant.

This process is very crucial for affiliate marketers and it can decide how your affiliate business will be.

If you choose the right merchant, you will get the strong back-end support for your customers.

And you will never feel headache about customer support because a good merchant will do their best to support you and your customer.

You also directly benefits from a good merchant.

Since a good merchant will significantly decrease money back rate.

Is it crucial?

Sure.

Let’s dig into my personal tips now.

Affiliate marketing has become increasingly popular in recent years.

Affiliate programs offer merchants the opportunity to employ vast armies of sales people who only get paid for the results they achieve.

The rewards for affiliates are high also, and the skilled affiliate marketer can earn many thousands of dollars a month.

This win-win situation has led to an explosion in the number of affiliate programs that are available to the would-be marketer.

With this proliferation of opportunities has come many questions;

how do you go about choosing the right opportunity for you?

What qualities should you look for in a program and which gives you a good chance of making a sustainable income?

Below are some tips that will help you to evaluate merchants and their programs, and help you to avoid wasting time and money.

1. How Much Commission Does The Merchant Pay?

This may seem obvious, but it is very important that you know how much you can expect to earn from a sale.

There is no point in spending time and money promoting a product that doesn’t pay well.

You could end up spending more on marketing than you are likely to make on sales.

It is probably best to stick with marketing products with a high commission value, unless you have found a niche market where you can sell vast quantities of product, and make substantial commissions on your volume of sales.

2. How Much Traffic is the Merchant’s Website Getting?

Try to discover the amount of traffic the merchant’s website is already receiving.

Alexa.com could be a useful tool for doing this research.

If the website is ranked in the top 100,000, the merchant is getting a good volume of traffic, and there may already be too many affiliates.

If it is ranked below 500,000 it is either no good or it could just be a golden opportunity to make some real money!

Always research a merchant’s product if their website has a low traffic ranking.

It may be a good idea to buy the product yourself if you can afford to.

Otherwise you could do a search to find out if there are any adverse comments about it on the internet.

If all is well and the product is good, you may have found a gold mine!

3. How Often Are Commissions Paid?

Some merchants pay commissions every week; some once a month, others only pay every quarter.

It is important that you know how often you can expect a pay check if you are going to have financial control over your business.

Do you have the financial resources to continue to market a product if you have to wait a long time before you get paid?

It would also be wise to find out the minimum commission that you have to earn before you get paid.

4. Does The Company Use Tracking Cookies?

Many customers do not buy on their first visit to a merchant’s website.

It is important therefore that the merchant uses cookies on their site, so that you get credit if the customer returns and buys at a later date.

Check out how long the cookies last. The longer the cookies lasts; the better the chance of getting paid!

5. Does The Merchant Pay On Subsequent Sales?

Some merchants will only pay commission on sales that come through customers visiting their site via a direct link from your site.

They pay you nothing for any subsequent purchases that the customer makes if they visit the merchants site directly.

It is important that you get paid no matter what route the customer returns by if you are to build a sustainable business.

6. What Promotional Resources Does The Merchant Offer?

Look at the type and quality of the promotional material that they provide.

Do they provide articles or content that you can use to promote them on your site or free guides, special offers or samples?

If the promotional resources are good it is likely that the merchant will provide good support for their affiliates.

Finding the right merchant can be a tricky business.

The best advice is to do your own research.

Use the above questions as an aid to finding a merchant that enables you to reach your financial goals.

You never know - You could strike gold!

Earn more by driving more traffic

Tag: General, Traffic generationSeree @ 1:51 pm

Hi folks,

In this post I’ll share about how to earn more from your affiliate programs, services or products by driving more traffic.

I’ll mainly point to traffic generation strategy that you can stick with for a long term.

At the end of result, you will gain more traffic to your web sites and improve your landing page to convert more.

And the best of all, you will never want to wait for Google to send you traffic anymore.

We just not stick with Google only.

Let’s see the first strategy. Blogging to get more traffic.

- Create your blogs on popular platform like blogger.com or wordpress.com

- Add your web site url to show a link from these built blogs. Link list for blogger.com or blogroll for wordpress.com

- Post the relevant and high-quality content to the blog in regular basis, let’s say 3 articles a week. On each article you may post your web site link.

- I can say that you now generate a little more traffic to your web site. If not yet, install some tracking into your site to see where your visitor come from. I recommend Google Analytics.

- When you have enough posts on your blog, let’s say 30-50 posts. Now it’s time to generate some back links to increase your traffic and pagerank.

- Find the 10-20 most popular blogs on your same niche from Google. Post your comment there with your web site link in your signature. Now you will generate even more traffic into your web site.

- Post some article in your blog and make a trackback to some relevant post from those popular blog. You will get a cross link that will generate you more traffic.

- Check your traffic now and consider enough or not. If not, this step should be implemented and should be done carefully. We are getting a JV.

- Visit those popular blogs again and see if you can write a review for their blog or not. If you are ok, email them that you have written a review for their blog and post in your blog. Maybe we can make an explicit cross link. For explicit cross link, I means it should appear on the first page of both of your blog and their blog.

Conclusion

Now you will be able to generate more traffic to your web site. You can earn more from those targeted traffic by building a list, promote your products or promote your affiliate programs. It’s now your time to earn more!

My recommendation is that you should do one strategy until it succeeded, then write it down to be your blueprint and pay a little bucks to outsourcing!

Let’s outsource do follow your blueprint and you will have a scalable business model.
