Increasing Your Affiliate Sales Using AutoResponder

Tag: Affiliate ideas, Crucial factorsSeree @ 11:24 pm

As an affiliate marketer you need to set yourself apart from all the other affiliates who may be vying for the same prospects.

This is particularly true in some of the most hotly contested markets such as internet marketing, poker sites, dating and the like.

So how does an affiliate set themselves apart, or better yet, above the competition so as to create more sales?

They do it by using an autoresponder to collect the names and email addresses of their prospects.

Simply sending people to your affiliate page is not enough to create sales. Depending on your market there may be several hundred, if not thousands, of other affiliates using the same pages.

What makes you believe that someone seeing the same page for the hundredth time is going to make them want that product any more than the tenth time?

The key is to offer a special report that focuses on how the particular product can solve a problem or fill a need that the prospect may have.

A simple title like "The 5 Proven Ways Product XYZ Will Make Your Skin Look Younger" on a special report that leads to an opt-in page to an autoresponder will greatly increase your prospect list.

Then take each of those five different aspects that you touched on in the report and break them down even further using each one as a separate follow up email to those that downloaded the special report.

Have each email going out every other day for the first two weeks and you have an automatic sales person working for you hands free.

By staying in constant contact with your prospects you build a sense of familiarity and trust with your list members. People like to buy from someone they know rather than a complete stranger.

These autoresponders can be set up for any niche imaginable.

An easy way to find material for your special report and autoresponder series is right on the sales page for the product you are promoting. Read through it and find the best sales points then combine them into a short report.

Another great way to find info is to just do a search through your favorite search engine, gather some facts from several different sites and rewrite them into your report.

Always remember though not to just copy someone else’s work. That is plagiarism and is illegal. But with a little so called leg work you can quickly compile enough info to keep your prospects coming back, build rapport and eventually grab the sale!

Squeeze Page - The Art of Affiliate Marketing

Tag: Affiliate ideas, Crucial factorsSeree @ 11:26 pm

Affiliate marketing’s one of the quickest methods to generate cash flow on the web today.

Among its many benefits is the fact that you don’t have to spend time or money researching and developing a new product. All of this has been done for you by the product owner.

This is a tremendous burden lifted off your shoulders because this is usually the most costly aspect of any business venture.

A word of caution though, you should still do a little research yourself as to whether the market wants the product you are looking to promote and whether the price point is fair and reasonable enough to attract a big audience.

Once this is done and you have found the product or service you want to promote and are satisfied with the affiliate program you should set up what is referred to as a squeeze page.

Simply put, a squeeze page is a one page pre sales letter that entices the prospect to leave their name and email address in order to receive more information on the product or service of choice.

There are several points to be made for this superb sales tactic. Number one, you set yourself apart from all the other affiliates promoting the same product. Number two, you build your own opt-in list that you can promote other products to.

So what do you need to use this tactic? A few basics and a little skill.

The first thing you need is a web hosting account and domain name. These are very inexpensive these days and are a must have for anyone who is serious about doing business online.

Second is an autoresponder. These too are fairly inexpensive. Many hosting accounts will now offer free autoresponders with their service.

Third is an HTML editor. There are several free editors out there that are easily found through a quick search. Nothing fancy is needed, just a simple user friendly application.

And the final ingredient is a little copy writing skill.

Here is a tip on what to write on your page: Go to the product sales page. Pick out the highlights, the biggest benefits you can see offered. Think about what other benefits there are that may not be stated already and jot them down.

Now go into your HTML editor and put together a small sales page using a good headline, subhead and bullet points listing all the benefits you gathered. This is where the copy writing skill comes in.

Put the email capture form generated from your autoresponder on the bottom of the page. Let your prospect know that by leaving their name and email address you will then reveal this highly coveted tool, piece of information, service or whatever it is you have and they so desperately want.

Do not mention the name of the product or service on the capture page, just the benefits. The reason for this is because they may have seen this product or service before and were sitting on the fence about it and you want the prospect to purchase through your link. You are going to nudge them over the fence with your presentation.

All you are trying to do is build interest, pique their curiosity and whet their appetite for more information.

Set up your autoresponder with 6-7 emails that go out in 3-4 day intervals, each building on one of the benefits mentioned on your squeeze page.

Then add in other related services or products that you are an affiliate of. Repetition is the key and your squeeze page gives you that advantage over other affiliates.

Successful Affiliate Marketing Strategies

Tag: Affiliate ideas, Crucial factors, GeneralSeree @ 2:04 pm

Many people make a serious income from marketing other people’s products. Unfortunately, many more spend time and effort in this area and see little or no reward. The good news is that not much usually separates the successful affiliate marketer from the novice. In this article we will look at some strategies to improve your results selling affiliate products.

1. Pick the right product
Generally you want to pick a product that has a higher affiliate commission and a higher price. However, it is Return on Investment (ROI) that is more important. In other words, if you spend $5 to make $10 you have a 100% return. If this scales up well you may just need to increase your advertising spending to get a large amount of money. On the other hand, if you market an expensive product that gives a large return, but it costs you more to advertise than it does in commissions then you are going to lose money.

As well as price and commission you need to examine the potential conversion rate. A product with a great sales letter and other benefits may be much easier to sell.

Timing is also important. If you can find a hot product before the majority of the market you are going to do well. If the product has already been flogged by your competition you may struggle to make any sales.

2. The money is in the list
You have probably heard this over and over again but the question is - Have you taken any action in this area? It is much easier to sell to existing customers than create a new one. Rather than sell one off products you should look at getting sign ups to your OWN list. From here you can continue to sell over and over again. However, you also need to provide good content or add value in other ways otherwise the unsubscribe rate will be high.

3. Spend money to make money
Sometimes you can get free advertising that works, but more often than not you have to spend money to make money. For example, you could run an AdWords campaign to send people to a sign-up page for a free 5-day course you set up using an autoresponder. Every subscriber is going to cost you something but over the long term as long as the ROI is positive you are going to make money.

4. Test, test, test
You need to continually test your ad copy, your traffic statistics, your sign-up rates etc. In particular, you should try a small-cost advertising campaign to see if it is going to be successful before putting a large amount of money into it. Find out what other successful marketers are doing. Read articles, participate in forums and if you can, get a mentor.

Who knows, using these strategies you may turn from a novice affiliate marketer to the next ’super’ affiliate.

Why You Should Redirect Your Affiliate Links?

Tag: Crucial factorsSeree @ 12:31 pm

Hi affiliate marketers,

This is really important for every affiliate marketers.

Affiliate marketing can make you a decent amount of income on the side without having your own product and sales copy.

The trick is to be different and not appear like everyone else. One main way to look different is to re-direct or cloak your affiliate link.

However, this article is going to tell you three other ways that re-directing your affiliate links can benefit you.

The first is Spam. When you use the same link coming from the same domain as everyone else, the spam filters start to pick up on that domain as being a sales letter email and blocking it as spam. i.e.

www.affiliateprogram.com/?id=111

So when ever the filters see www.affiliateprogram.com in the email it will get blocked as spam and get blacklisted, especially if it is a large promotion.

By re-directing the link - it will have your domain as the link and help to make it thru the spam filters.

The second reason is search engine optimization. If you write articles and submit them with a signature file that has the affiliate link, the affiliate site gets the back links. Plus it makes it easy for people to get rid of your affiliate id.

By using your domain as a redirect to the affiliate program you get the back links to your site and better SEO rankings.

The third reason is that it will make you look more professional as a marketer and not just someone who is out promoting all kinds of affiliate programs. When potential customers see

http://affiliateprogram.com/?id=111 they know it is an affiliate program and will be less likely to click on it.

However when they see

http://yourdoamin.com/affilliatename or http://yourdomain.com/recommends/program

They will view it more as your personal offer or recommendation.

There are many programs that offer to change your links. Many are simple software solutions and can have you changing all your links easily. The programs for changing links do not have to be pricey at all, and many are available as freeware or shareware through popular sites that offer these kinds of products.

Whatever program or software you choose, the key is to make your domain as the primary one. This will make your site seem more like the authority and have potential customers clicking away on your links in no time.

Common Mistakes of Affiliate Marketers

Tag: Crucial factorsSeree @ 3:44 pm

Having an Internet business, which earns you money on auto-pilot is very exciting. Although it’s easy to make money with affiliate marketing, only a very small percentage of affiliates make a lot of money.

By following the advice in this article, not only will you avoid the common mistakes most affiliate marketers make, but you will also learn how to select programs that make you residual income for many months.

With affiliate marketing a vendor pays people (affiliates) a certain percentage of the sale price for merchandise sold. It’s a win-win situation because the affiliate simply refers people to a website and does not have to worry about fulfillment, and the vendor gets people to advertise for them and only has to pay them after they make a sale.

Here are some common mistakes most affiliate marketers make, and why you should avoid them:

1. Sending people directly to an affiliate’s website.

You spend so much energy, time and money to advertise. When you send people directly to a vendor’s website you only have one chance to get the sale. If they don’t buy they are gone. The best way to do this is to send people to an opting page, where you give them something of value for free, in exchange for their email address. That way you can follow up with them at a later date and have the opportunity to sell them other products.

2. Creating a website with a gazillion affiliate links, tons of flashy banners and all the colors of the rainbow.

You don’t want to overwhelm people because when that happens they are gone. Instead, offer an honest review of a product, pre-selling readers on its benefits, and on how it will help them.

3. Falling victim of affiliate commission theft.

Yes, commission theft is a very big problem. While, you cannot eliminate it completely, there are some steps you can take, to minimize it dramatically. Two methods you can use are cloaking and redirecting, instead of having the affiliate url in the form: http://www.vendorswebsite.com/?id=imakemoneyoffofyou

It takes the same effort to refer a sale for a one-time purchase product than it takes to refer one for a residual payment product. Therefore, it makes good business sense to try and market affiliate programs with recurring commissions.

In choosing residual payment affiliate programs, you should consider the stickiness of the services you are promoting.

For example, you refer a sale for a membership website which only offers resale rights to products, and nothing else to keep the customer from canceling. People can join, download all the products and then cancel within the same month.

On the other hand, consider referring a sale for web hosting or for an autoresponder service. These services will be essential for the customer’s business, and he/she is therefore not likely to cancel for a very long time or until they give up their online ventures completely.

In conclusion, you should try and avoid the common mistakes that affiliate marketers make by sending your customers to an opt-in list first, pre-selling them to the product’s benefits, and by avoiding affiliate commission theft. In addition, you should be going after programs with residual commissions but be sure to always evaluate the stickiness of the product you are recommending. To be able to do that, the best way is to try the product yourself first.

Choosing the Best Affiliate Program

Tag: Crucial factorsSeree @ 8:10 am

Hi fellow affiliate marketers,

At the last post, I’ve post about how to choose for a good affiliate merchant.

In this post, I’ll share you how to choose the best affiliate program to suit on your goal.

Let’s get start…

When choosing an affiliate program there are many things to consider.

By carefully choosing which affiliate programs you want to promote you can earn money quicker and make more money over the long run.

One of the first things to consider when choosing an affiliate program is do you like their products.

You need to ask yourself if you would spend your own money to buy the very products you are considering promoting.

This is one of the common mistakes of beginning affiliate marketers.

The simply choose the affiliate program that pays the highest commission, not on whether or not they would use the product.

If you really like the product and would use it yourself it will make your job of promoting the product much easier.

Another thing to consider is how much commission you will earn on each sale.

By determining how much you will earn per sale you can figure out how much you can spend to market the item.

The other factor that will determine how much you can spend promoting an item besides the amount of commission per sale is the conversion rate.

The conversion rate is usually expressed as a percentage. Usually any product that converts greater than 1% is a great product.

By looking at the conversion rate and the amount of commission paid you can quickly determine if you can afford to promote the product.

You may really like the product, but if you have to spend a lot of money to promote it per sale it doesn’t make much sense to join that affiliate program.

Your knowledge about that particular product and industry should also be considered when choosing an affiliate program.

The more you know about the industry that that affiliate program is in the more likely you are to earn more than other affiliates, which are your competition.

When looking at the competition some people have differing viewpoints.

Some people say you should look for small niches to promote products to because you could become a big fish in a small pond.

On the other hand some people say it is easier to make money in areas where people are already spending money.

The choice is up to you, which is why you need to use your own skills and knowledge when choosing an affiliate program to promote.

Simply picking the latest and greatest affiliate program will not lead to long-term success.

By considering these factors you will start earning commissions sooner.

:-)

Go to take action Now!

How You Choose Your Affiliates Merchant?

Tag: Crucial factorsSeree @ 3:04 am

Hi affiliate marketers,

In this post I’ll share with you my personal tips to choose for affiliates merchant.

This process is very crucial for affiliate marketers and it can decide how your affiliate business will be.

If you choose the right merchant, you will get the strong back-end support for your customers.

And you will never feel headache about customer support because a good merchant will do their best to support you and your customer.

You also directly benefits from a good merchant.

Since a good merchant will significantly decrease money back rate.

Is it crucial?

Sure.

Let’s dig into my personal tips now.

Affiliate marketing has become increasingly popular in recent years.

Affiliate programs offer merchants the opportunity to employ vast armies of sales people who only get paid for the results they achieve.

The rewards for affiliates are high also, and the skilled affiliate marketer can earn many thousands of dollars a month.

This win-win situation has led to an explosion in the number of affiliate programs that are available to the would-be marketer.

With this proliferation of opportunities has come many questions;

how do you go about choosing the right opportunity for you?

What qualities should you look for in a program and which gives you a good chance of making a sustainable income?

Below are some tips that will help you to evaluate merchants and their programs, and help you to avoid wasting time and money.

1. How Much Commission Does The Merchant Pay?

This may seem obvious, but it is very important that you know how much you can expect to earn from a sale.

There is no point in spending time and money promoting a product that doesn’t pay well.

You could end up spending more on marketing than you are likely to make on sales.

It is probably best to stick with marketing products with a high commission value, unless you have found a niche market where you can sell vast quantities of product, and make substantial commissions on your volume of sales.

2. How Much Traffic is the Merchant’s Website Getting?

Try to discover the amount of traffic the merchant’s website is already receiving.

Alexa.com could be a useful tool for doing this research.

If the website is ranked in the top 100,000, the merchant is getting a good volume of traffic, and there may already be too many affiliates.

If it is ranked below 500,000 it is either no good or it could just be a golden opportunity to make some real money!

Always research a merchant’s product if their website has a low traffic ranking.

It may be a good idea to buy the product yourself if you can afford to.

Otherwise you could do a search to find out if there are any adverse comments about it on the internet.

If all is well and the product is good, you may have found a gold mine!

3. How Often Are Commissions Paid?

Some merchants pay commissions every week; some once a month, others only pay every quarter.

It is important that you know how often you can expect a pay check if you are going to have financial control over your business.

Do you have the financial resources to continue to market a product if you have to wait a long time before you get paid?

It would also be wise to find out the minimum commission that you have to earn before you get paid.

4. Does The Company Use Tracking Cookies?

Many customers do not buy on their first visit to a merchant’s website.

It is important therefore that the merchant uses cookies on their site, so that you get credit if the customer returns and buys at a later date.

Check out how long the cookies last. The longer the cookies lasts; the better the chance of getting paid!

5. Does The Merchant Pay On Subsequent Sales?

Some merchants will only pay commission on sales that come through customers visiting their site via a direct link from your site.

They pay you nothing for any subsequent purchases that the customer makes if they visit the merchants site directly.

It is important that you get paid no matter what route the customer returns by if you are to build a sustainable business.

6. What Promotional Resources Does The Merchant Offer?

Look at the type and quality of the promotional material that they provide.

Do they provide articles or content that you can use to promote them on your site or free guides, special offers or samples?

If the promotional resources are good it is likely that the merchant will provide good support for their affiliates.

Finding the right merchant can be a tricky business.

The best advice is to do your own research.

Use the above questions as an aid to finding a merchant that enables you to reach your financial goals.

You never know - You could strike gold!
